I am running the Dublin mini-marathon on the 4th of June 2012 for the organisation Childvision. I have ditched my high heels for runners to raise money for blind children.

Childvision is the ONLY school inIrelandfor the education and training of blind and vision impaired children. It acts as a national resource on the education and training of the blind or vision impaired child for parents, educators and healthcare professionals alike.
Childvision has been providing education and training at their campus in Drumcondra,Dublinsince 1859 and in 2009 they celebrated our 150th Anniversary. Childvision students range in age from birth through to young adulthood. Some have additional learning and/or physical disabilities.
Students attending the school come from all parts ofIrelandand for those who due to geographical location cannot attend each week childvision offers an outreach service via their Family Resource Centre. Through an annual Calendar of events it offers training, social activities and Summer Camps at weekends and during school holidays for children, families and professionals in the field of vision impairment.
Childvision Mobile Resource Unit, equipped with the latest in technology and aids for the visually impaired plus information leaflets etc. travels the country bringing their service to schools, hospitals and health centres.
