Also an absolute privilege for me to get a photo with the Youghal Grand Marshall, Ger Gleeson.
Ger is a retired firefighter. He served Youghal community as a firefighter for almost 30 years.
He also won Lollipop person of the year last year. He has worked as a much-loved lollipop man at Bunscoil Mhuire in Youghal, Co Cork, since 2015.
“Hail, rain or shine,” he’s out there to help the children safely cross the road in Youghal.
If anyone embodies the word 'Community' it's Ger.
