Honoured to have been MC yesterday at the Cost of Disability Strategic Focus Network Summit at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
An important day of discussion, bringing together people with lived experience, disabled persons organisations, policymakers, academics, Government Ministers and stakeholders to examine the real and ongoing costs associated with disability in Ireland.
The conversations across the panels, table discussions and breakout sessions highlighted both the challenges people continue to face and the importance of ensuring that disabled people are at the centre of policy development and decision-making.
A sincere thank you to the organisers for the opportunity to be involved and to everyone who contributed throughout the day.
Events like this matter because the cost of disability is not just a financial issue, it impacts education, employment, transport, health, independence and full participation in society.
