after London,
Running gives me the opportunity to travel so wondering which world major next.
No PB at Berlin but grateful for the experience. The plan was to try run as close to 3.20 which I felt was doable given my training.
Ran a distance of 43.68km as tried to navigate the crowds.
Marathons are tough but so am I! Just goes to show that no matter how well you train sometimes there are factors out of your control!
I hit the wall (mentally) pretty much from the start as I just found weaving in and around the crowds with a guide runner very mentally draining. Whereas if your a single runner it's easier to whiz around people.
When the mental game start it's a constant battle of negotiating and bargaining with yourself.
I don't like crowds as it stresses me out. Yet, I realise if I want to complete the rest of the world marathon majors such as
Chicago, Boston, New York Tokoyo and soon to be added Sydney as 7th world major then I need to get use to the crowds.
Thanks to my guide John O'Regan @johnoregan777 who got me around the course safely. It was a challenging job for him guiding when dealing with such big crowds. It required alot of concentration and patience especially at the water stations.
Onto the next one soon enough.![]()
